Get to know Dr. Matthew Pinto

Dr. Matthew Pinto is a local South Jersey native, born and raised in Voorhees, NJ. After attending Bishop Eustace Prep, he attended Lehigh University.  He received his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Pinto is double board certified both in Family Medicine and Obesity Medicine, and is a highly regarded medical weight loss practitioner. He also is an expert in cosmetic injections, such as Botox and Juvederm, along with other aesthetic treatments. Each of the past 7 years, Dr. Pinto has been recognized as one of South Jersey Magazine’s Top Doctors, and has been featured on television and as a guest speaker at professional conferences because of his outstanding work in medical weight loss.

In 2014 Dr. Pinto was appointed national medical director of the largest network of medical weight loss physicians in the country, the Center for Medical Weight Loss (www.cmwl.com).  He speaks nationally and locally and has trained hundreds of physicians on medical weight loss.  His passion to help patients take back their health by losing weight and changing their lifestyle has led him down the path of bariatric medicine. Once a prominent and admired family medicine physician, he decided to move in the direction of weight loss and wellness because it fulfilled his desire to truly help others.  The current medical system in the US has forced many doctors to practice in a manner not congruent with the reasons they entered medicine in the first place.  At Vive, Dr. Pinto is able to sit down and talk to his patients, gathering important data about their health and lifestyle, and then apply it to helping them change for the better. There is no incentive for him to run in and out of exam rooms, there is no pressure from the insurance companies dictating what tests or medications he wants to use, and this has allowed him to practice medicine his way.
